Intro

Once again my pleasure to be reviewing a new DragonModz product, in addition to reasonably priced LED's, pimpin' switches (reviewed here) and the very cool Dragon Meter (reviewed here), D'Modz will be carrying a new selection of hardware. It seems yet another Pimprig forum member has joined Lokie and Twizted in there modding pursuits. Erik "WordBiker" Suttles has come to Dragonmodz and he brings with him not only his extraordinary modding talents but a new line of products appropriately named "Dragonware". And no, it's not a place setting for mythological beasties, Dragonware is a line of hardware designed to meet the unique needs of the discerning modder.

There is a very old saying that goes, "God is in the details". The "details" is what Dragonware is all about. It's often the little touches that can help move a project case over the edge of mediocrity and into the stately realm of a PimpRig-dom. Dragonware may be just the ticket to help get you there.

The package arrived on time, undamaged, and neatly packaged.

The Dragonware

Dragonware consists of:

-Hardware replacement kits in custom red and blue anodized aluminum

You'll need an allen wrench for the socket head anodized screws and DragonModz thoughtfully provides one with the kit. 32 pieces of each of the most common sizes used in computers are included for a total of 64 pieces. More than enough for any build.

-Stainless steel black oxide fastener kits

Same number, same sizes but this time in black steel with a standard Phillips head. It's hard to go wrong with basic black. After all, look what it did for the little black dress.

-Anodized aluminum pop rivet kits in blue and red, 50pk

-Painted pop rivet kits in red, orange, blue, black, yellow and white, 50pk

Anyone who has ever drilled out case rivets to remove a top panel or drive bay will appreciate these little gems. These will fit most standard pop rivet guns and included is a small plastic washer so you don't damage the finish.

-Chromed decorative spikes, good for case feet, embellishments or any other creative purposes, in large and small matching styles

Ooooh chrome...bling...ing...ing..ing. Imagination is the only limit with these little beauties. Above we have a shark's smile, a tribal version of Stonehenge and the Loch Ness monster. If you have kids you may have to wait your turn to play with them. The spikes are of solid brass construction and heavy chrome plating. A countersink style screw is provided for mounting.
