PC Apex Poll

Since the Phenom will run on AM2 will you (or do you) use an AM2 setup?
I already am on AM2 and plan to stay.
I was already planning to move to AM2.
I am moving to AM2 because it will support the Phenom.
I am waiting till the Phenom is out for a while but will consider it.
I am an AMD Fanboy.
I am an Intel Fanboy.
I am not considering an AM2 setup at all.
I don't care as long as I can get my email.
Phenom-what? AM2 who?! Speak english man!

Intro and Usage

Here's the quick and dirty on a product from the folks at CrazyPC, a little something they call Hex Mesh. I received two 1 square foot sheets from them and I was just trying to figure out what the hell I had that needed some of this Hex Mesh. A quick surf over to their site to check around and I saw where they stated it's great for fan cover mods. Well don't ya know, I just happen to have a couple of new fans to cover...

I recently acquired a Vapochill and I noticed that it doesn't have anything in the top slots protecting the fragile aluminum fins on the condensor. Well thanks to CrazyPC, I now have a Hex Mesh grill covering the opening behind the bezel. Once I got started, I couldn't help myself. I noticed the lower slots had a mesh with round holes and this just didn't "mesh". So out came the tin snips and the round hole mesh was replaced with the Hex mesh.

Conclusion

The Hex Mesh is easy to cut, even with a pair of heavy sissors. Tin snips go through it like a hot knife through butter. This stuff is a cinch to work with, it's stamped from 20 gauge mild steel so it is simple to fold and shape. One side of the mesh is flat, and the other side is rounded; this is from the stamping process during production. Each side, flat and rounded, have a really different look so try it both ways when modding. The hexagons are 1/4 inch across and the bars in between are .032 inches, which gives you 79% of the area open for airflow while still providing strong grill protection. Something else that you can do is orient the "hex" in different angles to get a different pattern. I'm working on a piece that I doubled over and it looks pretty cool. One caveat when using the Hex Mesh; it's steel, so it is succeptible to rust. If you use it in an area with high humidity or a lot of moisture you will want to rust protect it before installing it. Hex Mesh is available from CrazyPC for less than seven bucks for a hunk just under 1 square foot. You are only limited by your imagination on what mods you could use it on. I give CrazyPC's Hex Mesh a 7 out of 10 and declare it PimpRig Approved.

Pimpin'
- Easy to Cut
- Easy to Bend

Gimpin'

Well there you have it...CrazyPC Hex Mesh hung like a honeycomb...ZENNZZO style.
