Intro
There is one thing all LAN Party addicts want; a trusted name brand making good products. Well I'll tell you, Thermaltake hit the bullseye with their Lanfire XaserBag case carrier. If it is as good as it looks then I think we have a winner in the case carrier market. The specs on what the case carrier can handle are on the side of the package:
Mid Tower:
- 440x180x460mm
- 430x192x540mm
- 66lbs (30 kg)+-4lbs
For all you serious modders that have a tank for a computer case, don't worry about this carrier not being able to handle it. Also, for those that have a bigger case you can buy the Big Tower XaserBag for 520x205x570mm size cases. One note, if you buy the larger XaserIII XaserBag, you don’t get increased weight capacity. We're going to start off with the assembly of the XaserBag and for those of you that are visual learners (myself included), I included a lot of pictures.
Usage
First thing to do is lay the XaserBag flat out on the floor.
Set the Case on top of the XaserBag like the picture shows.
Next, pull up the two sides then attach them to each other.
Then take the two front straps from either side and attach them together.
Repeat the last step for the back strap.
Finally, adjust the straps so they fit tightly around your case.
Additionally, you can attach the shoulder strap which they included for you so you don’t have to hand carry it everywhere..
Now you have your computer ready to go to the LAN Party. But what about your keyboard and mouse? You don’t want to have to carry them separately, do you? Not to worry my friend, Thermaltake has you covered with the X-Bag, and accessory which comes attached to all XaserBag’s. It mounts on one side of your case and offers room for your keyboard and mouse.
With your case, keyboard, and mouse all put together, you're ready to head off to any LAN Party with your beautiful case in tow.
When I was looking over the case, I couldn’t help but keep going back to the amount of adjustable buckles they have on it. This thing is adjustable from every angle, which is a blessing because you can move the straps so that they dont end up on the corners of your case which will eliminate scratching. The next question that might pop into your mind would be "will it pop out my window?". Well, as you can see from my case I don't have one in there, but from what I can see and where the weight is distrubeted you won't have a problem with your window popping out. The other thing that I really liked was the padded shoulder strap. For those that have a monster for a case need not fret because the thick shoulder pad offers comfort for you shoulder.
Conclusion
The Thermaltake XaserBag is a well thought out and meticulously designed product that serves but one purpose; to allow you to transform your non-portable rig in to a portable LAN box. Yes, it serves only one purpose, but it does it exceptionally well.
Pros
- Lot's of buckels for adjustablity
- Padded Shoulder Pad
Cons
- Still have to carry you monster case
