Intro

There are many companies out there making computer cooling equipment. Some have been around for a while and others are relatively new. Titan started out in the computer business in 1989 under the name of Sogic and was renamed to Titan in 1992, so they have a little experience under their belt. They make computer cooling components from fans to water cooling as well as power inverters for those of you that want to build a carputer. Today I will be reviewing the Vanessa L-type CPU cooler.

Package

The package from Titan arrived marked EXTREMLY URGENT. It was a little dented but not alarmingly so. When you consider it got from Taipei, Taiwan to Las Vegas, Nevada in a little over 24 hours maybe a little damage is to be expected. Tearing off the wrapping like a little kid at Christmas revealed the box containing the cooler. Opening the box you find a very large cooler in the shape of a butterfly (or Mothra considering how big it is), an accessory box, a fan speed controller, and a long Phillips head screwdriver.

Removing the cooler revealed a few very slightly bent fins that were easily pushed back into place so no permanent damage was done. Emptying the contents of the accessory box you'll find all the mounting brackets, assorted hardware, the instruction sheet and a small tube of Nano Blue thermal paste. Now you may be thinking that it was nice for them to include a screwdriver but trust me, we'll need it later.
