Intro
Although heatsinks and fans of our CPU's and GPU's have been our primary focus, cooling solutions for our memory sticks are starting to make their way into many of our rigs. One of the most popular and economical ways of cooling RAM is utilizing heatspreaders. Even though this passive method helps extract and dissipate heat, using fans to actively cool your RAM may further help in decreasing temperatures.
MA*Labs, a leading computer component distributor, provides us with a Memory Module Cooler which is manufactured by Super Talent Memory. The Memory Module Cooler is available in solid beige, transparent, and transparent with LED's. The review unit that MA*Labs supplied us with is the transparent model that includes the LED's.
Packaging
The Memory Module Cooler is packaged in a nice retail box with both the name of the product and manufacturer displayed. On the back of the box are a couple graphics of the product along with a specifications, features, and model list.
Removing the contents out of the retail box, you'll find the Memory Module cooler along with an instruction sheet. Pretty simple packaging I would say :-)

The Super Talent Memory Module Cooler has a plastic design and utilizes two 40mm fans. The two fans push a total of 3.36 CFM while only creating 26 dBA. For this particular model, each of the fans comes equipped with 6 LED's. Although Super Talent states that the fans on the Memory Module Cooler will have a long life, it's good to know that replacement fans should be easy to get; even if they do not come with thet LED's.
The Memory Module Cooler comes 3 pin and a 4 pin connector, as well as a spare 4 pin female connector.
Now, to install this thing over your memory sticks, the Memory Module Cooler uses two spring loaded plastic arms. The plastic arms are found on both ends of the cooler and are used to attach on to the memory socket levers. The springs on the plastic arms are really tight, so it's very unlikely that this cooler will fall out of place when it's installed. The grooved design at the end of the plastic arms also help in attaching the Memory Module Cooler securely. Pretty simple and efficient design overall.
