Intro
How the airflow passes around the PCI slots is always a mystery. The nagging question that I always face is how can I improve the airflow around the PCI slots, or better yet the GPU? With the clock speeds increasing by the day; whether it’s from overclocking your GPU or upgrading, cooling is very important to all your equipment. Logisys might not have all the answers for everything but today they came very close with one.
This time, Logisys sent me a 3D Edge fan. What is a 3D Edge Fan? Well I’m glad you asked. The 3D Edge Fan is a multi directional/positional fan set-up that can cool anything in the PCI slots or close to them. With the option of up to 5 fans or just one there is a plethora of settings this new innovation can provide. Well enough of this intro, lets check this thing out!
The Package
I was sent one of the very first Edge fans produced, this was stated to me in an email from Logisys so the production package was not finalized yet. They did send the final color shots of the product liner with the email. I thought this was very thorough of Logisys to do this. Review samples are just that...samples for review so I understand the point of not sending a flashy package to be reviewed.
The Edge Fan was sent in a well wrapped package and arrived in good condition. Inside I found the 3D edge Fan in all its glory. I was quite pleased to see this new product from Logisys and wanted to rip right into it, but I had to take pictures for you and had to take my time.

Here is everything laid out
You definitely get a lot with this kit. The possibilities are almost endless for the configurations this can be set up for.
The fans are 70mm x 15mm and light up with blue and green LEDs. They are rated at .32/3.84 A/W, it's not rocket science but I'm sure you can figure the total of all three. That's all the info they list for the fans. There are 3 pins on the fan so I plugged one into a motherboard header to get the RPMs. The fan spins fairly quiet @3200 RPM but times that by 3 and they become more audible. The blades are hurricane style that are more aerodynamic and can move a lot of air without the elevated sound levels. I did send Logisys an email asking for the CFM on these nice fans...not just once but twice, but never received any response on the specs.
The main mounting bracket is the heart of the Edge Fan; this bracket can have up to two fans mounted or just one. With mounting placements 20mm apart the Edge Fan can direct air to where it’s needed most.
If the PCI bracket wasn't enough, this kit includes 2 more brackets to mount one fan each. They mount perpendicular to the PCI bracket on top or the side. What is even more pimp is these single brackets have adjustment slots 18mm long, but with a screw in place that leaves only 15mm. With the mounting holes for these brackets 20mm apart, adjusting for the fans to dial in for maximum air flow very easy.
