Introduction
Koolance has long been at the forefront of pre-mod water cooling bliss. Their pre-made water cooled cases have offered countless first time water coolers the chance to get their proverbial feet wet (ahem). For the past year or so, Koolance have had great success with the easy to install, external water cooling system dubbed Exos. Although water cooling aficionados have accepted these external pre-mods as a natural progression of water cooling for the masses ...... they have generally been considered less robust than custom DIY systems.
Today, I have on my test bench two brand new Koolance waterblocks, and two other offerings from their high end stable:
- Koolance Exos Aluminum // Check Prices //
- GPU-180-L06 // Check Prices //
- CPU-300-H06 (NEW) // Check Prices //
- CPU-300-V10 (NEW) // Check Prices //
I will compare the Exos system (with the CPU-300-H06) against a powerful 1/2" DIY system, a competitive air cooler, and most importantly, its chief rival ...... the Corsair Hydrocool 200. I will evaluate the GPU cooling capabilities of the GPU-180-L06, and examine its effect on CPU cooling. Lastly, I will test the CPU-300-V10 in a DIY loop, knocking heads with one of the most capable 1/2" ID waterblocks on the market. Koolance is clearly trying to position themselves into the water cooling performance echelon ......... will their products hold water (booo!)?
First Impressions
My shipment from Koolance arrived in a corrugated cardboard box bearing company insignia. Opening the box I found the inner Koolance box, and a small bubble wrapped package surrounded by packing peanuts. There was little chance of damage in transport. As you can see, the Exos comes in a very attractive retail box. Clearly ready to grace retail shelves!
