If I was to compile a list of the best water cooling gear of all time, Innovatek products would certainly figure prominently. The Innovatek Cool rev. 3 for instance was not only one of the first mass produced cpu blocks, but was also the performance king for a very long time, probably longer than any block to date. And as a testament to its original design, the same model is still being produced and sold today.
Literally dozens of water cooling companies have come and gone since Innovatek introduced their first kit. Back in 2001 Innovatek defined what water cooling should be and watched everyone else scramble to catch up. Even industry giant Swiftech's efforts at the time looked and performed as if they had been designed by Fischer-Price while Innovatek was being compared to Porsche.
Innovatek has continued to impress with innovations in design, materials, color and advances in flow and temp monitoring. And with a wide range of radiators both passive and active and wise choices in fans and pumps, they have kept their sights firmly on the primary goals of the water cooling enthusiast; quiet, reliable and efficient cooling. With Innovatek's extraordinary attention to detail so typical of German craftsmanship, and the ability to stand the test of time, I'm sure they'll be around many more years.
Much of my first genuine "store bought" water gear was Innovatek, much of it is still Innovatek, so when FrozenCPU and Innovatek asked if I'd like to review some of their latest and greatest gear, my answer was simply, "I'd love to."
First Impressions
It's a box, it's a very big box. And another big box. And it's mine...mine...MINE, mwhahahahahahahaHAH! And not one dirty rotten stinkin' peanut in either box. Most of the very fine packing job was done with little air bags, even the case was crammed full of 'em insuring nothing would shift around in transit. The pump and block where firmly secured to the drive cage with zip ties.
My first impression, "Whoa", followed about twenty seconds later with, "Whoa". It seems that communications class I took back in college is finally paying off. By the time a trail of drool hit my leg and woke me from my stupor, my border collie Minnie Mouse had crawled inside, curled up and went to sleep. Cheese und crackers that's a big case.
